A gorgeous?pin from the Edwardian?(ca1910) era! This piece, which is made of platinum-topped 14kt yellow gold and depicts a jewel-encrusted lizard. The body of the lizard is covered in sparkling?diamonds that travel down the center of its back and tail, and line its legs and head. At either side of its body are two stripes formed by demantoid garnets, which have a bright, vibrant green color. Two luscious rubies represent its eyes. The feet of the lizard and the underside of the piece are 14kt yellow gold. On the back of the brooch?is a secure bar pin, which is marked "14K" on the clasp. A?wonderful piece with fantastic detail, it?would make a special?addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 2 1/8" at its longest point, 1" at the widest point and has a depth of 3/16".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum setting and all of the diamonds and demantoid garnet stones are intact. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
